**EDIT** 12/5/12

I have cancelled my tophatter.com account permanently, but as the owner of this blog, every single day, people come through here using the keywords ‘tophatter.com sucks’ ‘I hate tophatter’ , ‘tophatter.com ripped me off’ and ‘tophatter.com review’…

As i edge closer and closer to my9,000th visitor… I feel i owe it to all of you guys, googling these terms, and coming here to this blog, to keep up on how people feel about this site, even though you couldnt personally get me to use it again if THEY paid ME instead of sucking outrageous amounts of cash away from me, and you.

These are actual quotes, of comments left by my readers, who clearly felt strongly enough about the issue to sit down and write out some really insightful replies….

Here are some of the comments i have received in this very blog, regarding tophatter.com:

“Hi, Kim…

Yes, Tophatter is changing, and changing quickly. I have been selling on there only a few weeks, but had been watching the auctions off and on since February. You think the fees were interesting when you tried it, you should see what they are doing now. They are “experimenting” with changing a fee to list your item PLUS the % seller’s premium. last night they tried a $12 scheduling fee in “night owl” and the fee goes down as the early morning wears on.. and naturally as the crowd wanes. Really? It is insane. If one chooses to participate in this (which i can’t ), the seller is subject to the scheduling fee, PLUS the seller’s premium, plus paypal’s fees.

They have cut out the “global” 3am pst (6am est) altogether, so the earliest auction will be early bird at 6am pac, 9am est. They plan to continue this “trial period” through the holidays. This severely impacts many of the sellers who handmake their items, and don’t really get all that high of a bid depending on what time of day they can get on to sell. there are plenty of people no through who get refurbished electronics and resell those, or buy rings and earrings from shadora.com and resell those; so they get higher bids and can afford the fees. So I no more than invest what little extra money I had in jewelry making tools and materials just in time for this squeeze out in exorbitant fees and again just in time for the holidays.

I’m getting ready to open an etsy store so I am hoping what appearances i can make in auctions will drive sales in the store too. but still…. it seems like the people who have tophatter are arrogant business college students instead of actual business owners with actual experience… book smart and common sense dumb in understanding they need to let the free market make their site grow. Their ideas for non paying bidders lacks common sense also, Paypal takes the father figure role for this pretty much since they are the entity used for payment… new emails coming out every couple of weeks with new rules, fee schedules, and such. So hard to keep up.

The chat mute policy is beyond stupid and once a person is “permanently muted” by a staff member there is no appeal process as the founders and co founders “trust the judgement of the staff” who are paid, AND also happen to be sellers there. gee – a little conflict of interest ya think?

So instead of recognizing a great thing they have with even better potential, and just tweak things here and there… they decide to overhaul section by section, rolling the dice until something just happens to work. Unbelievable. So I’m debating what to do in trying to get the most sales for the least in fees… leaving tophatter might be one of them – I’m still not sure yet.. but I have had to stop selling in many of their auctions because of the buy-ins instead of putting my item on stand by in hopes of someone liking it enough to advance into the actual auction lineup. It is beyond frustrating…

-Dee

Kim – I totally agree with you, it is very frustrating, when your only options are Standby and to see there are hardly any items in the actual auction. They suck!!

-Jeanette

Hi Kim -

I hate tophatter. I hate tophatter as a seller and a buyer. i agree completely. I am so freaking tired of the same 5 items in every auction and a standby list of 600 items up for 2 mins. (if i have to see another f-ing glow locket I’m going to puke). The staff are a bunch if do-nothing fat cats sitting back collecting their money laughing at us all. I have been waiting weeks and sending repeated emails and talking to the ‘lip service’ live chat people to get 2 stupid listings removed from my bill. Also while half the items I’ve bought from this site have not arrived in over a month and not a peep from sellers. My negative feedback is not left for all to see… like they are purposely protecting bad sellers. This site is bad news all round! They let people sell counterfeit sterling silver re-sale china stuff on there. I flag countless items I know to be plated fakes. They do nothing at all. And if you try to tell anyone not to bid, they silence you faster then you can say ‘boo’. Only happy smiley people aloud on ‘top-hater’. This site is run by a very poor programmer. I’d be surprised if they had more then 3 people running hundreds of thousands of listings daily. The live staff are nothing but smiling help desk automotons. Might as well be a list of computer drop down menus for all the ‘help’ they give.

-Alina

Dear Kim -

I couldnt agree more! I too am having issues with selling on Tophatter, their favorite’s list has left the rest of us out in the cold hoping that our stuff makes it off standby. Oh not to mention when your item is removed from standby and your not told why? Or the constant policy changes they make without telling you? I deleted my profile after 3 weeks of seeing nothing following 3 weeks of selling items. IF I wanted to be on standby Id sell on Ebay. So freakin tired of it! Etsy isnt much better but at least it doesnt make you want to pull your hair out when your $15 item sells for less than $3…..

-Kellie

Hey Kim -

tophatter is FULL of people buying $2-5 items from china and selling them as real gold, silver and platinum there. I provided them with indisputable proof and they said they can’t do anything without actually seeing the product. So poor slobs going there and bidding think they are getting something that retails for $200 (it says so…) and they bid up to $100. By the time they realize it is plating PayPal time limit will probably be done.

It could be so awesome, and yet it is being destroyed by it. Most of the sellers and one of the hosts are doing it. They also give priority scheduling to these people, so they are the ones in every single auction and sometimes promoted as the main picture for an auction.

Disgusted.

-Alorinna

Whats up kim,

I Also found you by typing Tophatter sucks, lol, just because I got mad at them, lol! I dislike their scheduling system lots. I had worked my way up to being able to schedule 10 listings and just because 2 of my items did not sell because it was slow that night (they were in the same auction), they knocked my scheduling priveledges back down to 3! Now I can understand it being knocked a little, but from 10 to 3! It took a lot of patience to get to 10! I have positive feedback, and I can not help if the room was slow that night, lol! Lots of others did not sell that night and only a few items made it off of standby. Oh, well, I still had maxed out my 10, so hopefully the other stuff will sell and pull it back up.

-J

Hi kim.

I joined tophatter recently. I did try to sell a popular item at below market price. I never got an email saying it sold or not. They only allow new people to post one item. I guess the question is now, why bother? I have stuff to sell, maybe some things people want, but I don’t think I want to wait around and beg for sales. Etsy is probably better. The the competition there is quite difficult there, and dirty.
Thats the world today, you have to learn to enjoy it.

I found this by typing “why tophatter.com sucks” into Google, hehe… I have to agree with you, it’s next to impossible to get a spot, and then all of that anticipation for no sale, and for more than HALF OFF what I charge on Etsy.com, anyway?? So… There it is. You can go back through this blog to the various entries concerning tophatter and find the original postings if you like. I couldnt make this stuff up if i tried….

Below the stars, are some things i have created this past summer. and the rest of this original blog posting <3

******

So, i have been making a bunch of hats, as you may recall from my last post… i made a few of the floppy sunhat style, but what i really really want to do is make a stiff brim, nearly-but-not-quite- Mae West hat, from Red Heart’s Peruvian Print Colorway. I saw a wonderful version on a FB crochet page, and while i cant remember the womans name or which FB page it was, because it was about a month ago… Her work was fabulous, and i have so much respect for making a Sunhat of this type with no pattern.
It seemed a friend of hers made an instructional video of a version of this in peach, but i could not follow along to save my life. My fault though, not hers. that happens to me sometimes, with instructional videos. sometimes my brain just refuses to take them in. A definate part of my process when learning something, especially crochet, from a video, is finding the right video…. but there was only this one video, and i simply couldnt go along for some reason….
So, here is a link to the youtube video, for anyone else interested in giving it a go. It is a great video, and it is very thorough.
Sunhat Tutorial by OneVirtuousWoman, through her Youtube Channel, And here is a link to her custom crochet website, at  www.onevirtuouswoman.com

So yeah, check out that video, and give it a shot.

That is where my journey began.

So, once i recognized the thorough nature of the vid, but that it was for some reason not working for me (but it will probably work for most normal people so check it out, lol. but im silly so excuse me lol )
Anyway, So, if you follow the Kim’s Knots Facebook page at all, you may have seen me post a link to a 24 Hour Moby Dick Reading Marathon. If you skip to minute 21.00 you will see my fiancee reading a chapter from the great Moby Dick, and me sitting in the background working on This Very Hat Crown!

That was kind of drawn out, but one, go check out the Kims Knots Facebook and be sure to check out the Ustream of the Moby Dick reading at minute 21 to see me crocheting behind my fiancee… :-)
Ok… so here is a bunch of pictures and my attempt at explaining what i was trying to show you all.

Ok, so here is my finished crown, Red Heart Peruvian Print, done on a size ‘E’ hook. The smallest i have ever worked on. My hope is that in using 4 ply worsted, (i think) on a very small hook, id be making the brim more tightlycrocheted, and therefore, more static, and moldable, as opposed to floppy. So, there is the crown.

Ok, and here is the bottom edge of the crown, which was so far, my biggest difficulty. How to start working the brim out, while having it maintain a 90 degree angle, even though the little ‘v’s’ we all love so well, is facing DoWn!

This is a zoomed out pic of the edge. My biggest issue….  and here is what i did…

Ok, so i inserted the needle BeNeAtH the ‘V’, from the inside, and then guided the needle Up, towards the top, instead of down, like you would normally. From there, i went with the hook into the space between stitches in the PrEvIoUs row, and then came out and completed the stitch. I hope to god this makes sense! lol What you see here in the pic is the needle inserted in the first hole, under the ‘V’, behind the ‘bar’ created by the previous row’s stitches, and then up through the space, right above there, right before you yarn over, and pull through.

Ok, so what i am attempting to show here, above, is by technically stitching on top of the row 2 rows back, you are creating a rib, of sorts, which the ‘V’s of, face 90 degrees from the crown, and not down.

And, this last pic above here, is zoomed out, but you can see a little better, how the white and green row to the left, is a bit elevated from the blue row on the right that i am working on top of.also you can a bit more clearly see the degree of change in the angle of the white and green stitches, and the blue ones.

Yay!

stay tuned to see how the brim comes out!

and also id love to see anyone elses efforts.

thanks!

also! This blog is less than 300 clicks from 6,000 hits!

Awesome stuff. :-)

So… There it is. You can go back through this blog to the various entries concerning tophatter and find the original postings if you like. I couldnt make this stuff up if i tried…..

And now for the rest of this original blog post last year:

Well, I have once again run into difficulty in business, and that is the time which i remember most often, that i have a blog, about my business, and that i want to help out others who are having similar difficulty.

First off, Tophatter is pissing me off incessantly. The ridiculous amounts of time that it takes to work with the site is insane at this point. i can not get ANY pre-scheduled listings, anymore, as they are phasing them out in favor of super-standby.

I have hated standby since it was born, and now with the lessening of the pre-scheduled slots, its just about impossible to be productive unless you are selling high ticket items, on a schedule, often. why? because the higher the ticket items, the more money Tophatter makes. fancy that. : /

I have not been able to produce Nightmare Boxes lately, and moreover, and to be honest, im sick of them. It is the only thing that sells well so far, and that makes enough that it justifies sitting there all day long, and im just so sick of it.

Which caused me, obviously, to turn around and rethink my process. I do want to make some money, but the whole idea of having a business is to enjoy what i am doing. and that is fizzling out….

i have been listing tarot readings, in the meantime. and i had put up a set of bracelets i made and lo and behold, i could pre-schedule for standby, but wouldnt know if i made it into the auction unless i was either on site, or in my email for at least an hour. i was not, and my bracelets sold for a whopping 3 bucks. i had added other items to standby all week, but they didnt get in. sometimes standby goes so fast, and so long, that my items go right to the bottom of the list, and dont even get seen. it really sucks.

i will be moving back into jewelry and purse making for a while. i have some custom orders i am working on, and once they are gone, i will only take custom box orders, and stick to purses and jewelry for a while. i have a jewelry idea tat no one is doing yet, and my purses are also one of a kind. i think both will sell well, and might even get out of that awful standby. : / however, i also think i will focus more n reviving my Etsy and drawing traffic there. i think that will be best.

i have been meaning to move back towards etsy for a while, but i think i was procrastinating because i hoped tophatter would stop sucking, but, at this point, i have no more hope for that to ever happen. it just gets harder and harder to get in, and they are even talking about there being fees, ON TOP of the `10% (10 percent!!!!) they already take… and that is why only high ticket items are going to be worth selling in the future, also.

I will probably start mass producing some little nonsense that i can list all the time, and on the rare occasion i get in, i will promote my shop. where all my actual items will be, getting the prices they deserve, on a site that actually does what its supposed to. im sure in the future tophatter will get its shit together and be great, but right now… just sucks.

Im sorry i put so much stock in that site and shifted my focus from my etsy at all. it will be a lot of work to switch it back.

have i mentioned that an insane amount of people who find this blog locate it by googling ‘tophatter sucks’? almost half?

yeah…

Oh, and about 1/3 of my customers are defaulting on their payments at this point.

THAT never happened on Etsy, i know THAT.

So, Just say no, to moustachioes.

Things have been going really well. I have managed to get a few spots on Tophatter, and though it involves a heck of a lot more of my attention and effort to get them, im still really happy.I love making my boxes, and i love when people go crazy for them. i love shipping them, and i love getting feedback. i love it. :-)

Im selling off the last of my jewelry spots, and then its all boxes, all the time. Heres some of my new stuff….

Here we have the new, and hopefully permanent version of the Nightmare box, large, and a smaller one also, as well as a Tree of life box with cool dangly charms inside, Doctor Who nesting Boxes, Led Zeppelin, and a Sons of Anarchy Custom piece.

also working on my first boxes to include swarovski crystals. stay tuned for that.

The Doctor Who sold for around 25-30, and it felt SO good to see a bidding frenzy again. definately selling more boxes….

Feels good to see things falling back into place.

I think it might be hard to adjust to the ebb and flow when they turn from one to the other, but at the same time, it really is worth it when it goes well.

So tophatter has been sooo unbelievably difficult to work with lately. thay have all these changes coming out soon, on top of all the changes they have already made, and omg, omg, omg…. it is positively endless.

the one i cant wait for is the fees that we will now have to pay to list items in bazaars. thats just fabulous. they just doubles or tripled their income with that. awesome. meanwhile….

im just trying to enjoy my creative process, but im also starting to worry what ill do with it all once the siter continues to do what is has been doing., i have tried for so long and so hard, to make this site work, and while it HAS worked for a short, intense period, ome the rest of the time… let me say again, omg, the rest of the time.

i got another slot tonight by listing my dream catcher in the for the home auction. ok . sure. why not. it is home decor.i guess ill go ahead and make the other two.

i think i might have to move away from jewelery now, as well, because the site is just flooded with it. they banned jewelery fromt he bazaars, and theyt are starting different auctions for each type of jewelery, bracelets, rings etc… oh frigging boy! i sure hope that worlks to help reduce some of the traffic jams for listing. i expect it to be a month to two months before the site is going to (MAYBE) be back functioning where it was for all user. but right now it SUX.

the fees theyre implementing will help a ton, im sure, to reduce use by many user who arent exactly serious about selling. MAYBE. theres plenty of people with money and lots of time so it might not do anything….

i really hope it all works out for the best on all fronts, i really do. but im also so frustrated…. going to start listing more on Etsy and using the slots i Do get to promote myself over there…

I think the piss of it all, is that, i had such high hopes and aspirations for all of this, and i feel like i was mislead. but they didnt know how things were going to be either. mostly i figure i got lucky, and then if i mentally accept that, then, i nhave to no longer hope, for such awesome progress and success. but i dont want to DO that.

When i first saw tophatter, i knew immediately, that  i would flourish. andi did, i made almost 2 grand, in one month. i was starting to collect receipts for tax time next year. i ACTUALLY looked, like my ideal goal of making 25G in my first year as a business (which is pretty modest honestly considering what a good business can do, i think) was going to be a very real, and tangible reality. in fact, i coult not only, and was not, only touching it, i could smell my little dreams, baking in the oven.

but then everything changed. i started to have the issues with a supplier, which havent yet been resolved, about a month later, possibly more…. so i figured id switch to jewelery in the meantime, but then Tophatter changed everythihg, because apparently half their users had that exact same idea. lets do jewelery. dammit.

So, now i have this listing issue, and i think i have to change genres AGAIN. To WHAT?! I ask myself…. dreamcatchers maybe?  back to other boxes? Different styles, of nightmare boxes maybe? Maybe just taking whatever i can find and nightmaring it into a box. lol. i think either of those possibilities might work. Also baked goods do well over there and even got their own auction. but the entire idea of this adventure was to enjoy what i was doing and prosper, andwhile id prolly make money, i am a terrible baker lol. my bakery owning grandfather is rolling over in his grave i think. no, i do ok, to be fair, but the people in the edibles auctions are Masters, and it shows. i dont want to mess about in there really. maybe ill try it. but prolly not.

Baking, Boxes, and Dreamcatchers. why not.

I really love sitting on the couch with my sweetheart at the end of the day and watching some tv together while i do some jewelery stuff, maybe have some dinner or whatever. i suppose, though, that i could do dreamcatchers the same way, and boxes as well….. def not baking though id be up and down every three seconds, which i do enough anyway lol.

I have been trying to figure out why this tophatter situation has been bothering me so much, and i think it comes down to not being pissed at them, though it does suck whats happening, but that their doing things this way, best as they can, or not, is having major effects on my plans. we both got started at the same time, and theres just been lots of changes…..

i sincerely hope it all smooths out, because i think id do what i am setting out to do, and id help them do what they are trying to do as well. but if things keep on the way tghey are, at best ill have an occasional, small income venue, from which to attract other visitors to my Etsy shop. which, might not even be all bad.

I want to get back to being grateful for the opportunity in my life right now to try and do in the first place, and just be content in my process. what will sell will sell. undulations and fluctuations all over the place. must bends with the windsssss……. and do beads. :-)

yep. that feels better.

Well… all this hard work, and time, and creating, and endless devotion to trying to make this work is just not getting me anywhere. They keep changing things, and i just cant keep up. Moreover, neither can they.

I have the option to list 10 items with 4 day priority scheduling, and 2 items to an auction, and i have been sitting here twiddling my thumbs for almost a week now. I have 2 auctions left, for tarot, but they made an ‘astrology’ category which no one is interested in, so im the only item in there, twice, plus 3 others. im sure those auctions will go awesomely… :-/

I have been trying to utilize some standby, but that hardly works at all for me, or anyone else i have come across. the entirety of the site is essentially completely unworking for me at this time. and i keep asking the mods what the deal is, and its just backed up so hard that in spite of how well i have done as a seller, i cant get an item in edgewise. i have an entire week of items ready to be scheduled, and i just cant get a spot. and i dont want to sit there all damn day and hope to get into standby or that the computer will ‘randomly generate some spots at will’

I m trying to focus on the fact that i love what i am doing, and just make things because i love to do it. i hope that someday, hopefully sooner than later, ill log ion in the middle of the night and be able to sell some of it. :-/ but even thats not working….

i managed to get 2 into jewelery just now, for the first time in a week, but i have no idea how or why it worked…..

sigh….

So a lovely woman named Melanie came across me on Etsy, and she adored my shop! She proceeded to inform me that in particular, she loved my customizable and personalized mothers day photo boxes. She also explained that she has a blog and wanted to feature me a post about some cool mothers day gifts. WOW!

So be sure to go and meet her on her blog, Bearrabbitbear.com and check out her awesome feature. She really found some interesting things in there, and I am so honored to have been discovered by someone!

i have made a crap ton of the most awesome jewelery ever. heres some pics of that.

I have had My etsy shop for over a year, and i have 23 sales. 21 of which have come since February 27th of this year. How amazing is that?!

I have 25 sales on Tophatter from the last 30 days or so as well.

50 orders. In one month. Wow. I am beginning to wonder about the process for paying taxes though. As i will def pass the line for when i would have to pay this year, if i havent already.

Also, it was another great week last week, and heres the end product before i hauled it down to the PO…

Aaaaand , i also ordered my super awesome fully pimped out business cards yesterday. 2 sided, glossy coated… oooh i cant wait for them to get here!

heres the old ones i was printing on Avery stock, and the new ones….

Gaaaaaawd i cant wait to start sticking these suckers in my boxes! <3

So, my busy-ness and absence from my blog here has been entirely on accident.

I have been so so busy1 with orders, and manning Tophatter at all times… I literally had to pull some of my auctions this week because it was looking too crazy!

Also, I had orders coming in faster than it was looking like i was gonna be able to get boxes. So, i investigated special-ordering, so that i know they will be there, 10 every time i order…..  then, once thats all worked out, i can just paint paint paint paint paint until i cant paints no more!

Meanwhile, i have five or six Nightmare boxes going out this week, and no more on the auction block until the 30, 31, and 1st of April. In my current posession, i have one completed, four about 3/4 done, one about 1/2 and three or so unbegun.

I have also been pushing my jewelery. I only make cheapy stuff, but i love it so! So i have been looking to get it to sell better. So, i made an 11 pair set, of bracelet and earrings combos, in 11 different colors! Heres some picsof that…..

I think this will do well, as a set, but i have had a heck of a tie getting a listing on the fly on tophatter lately. I have a secret method i use to get into the fairs and it has been working well for me. but they are so backed up that theyre not even having fairs anymore! not tonight anyway….

So, i sat here and did some painting and waited but nothign happened, so i signed out and off. oh well. I will leave this lot unscheduled so i can have one available to me in the event that i Do get a fair spot. which i am confident i will once things die down a bit.

also TH will be having a ‘town meeting’ this week on friday which i am looking forward to… lots of new changes on the site that i want to understand better.

Some of the other boxes i have been making include:

Hunger Games:

The Joker:

Silence of the Lambs:

A New Nightmare Box:

And someone bought the two Celestial nesting Boxes, and I came up with this as a replacement:

Monet! But sparkly!

Also I have made a tom more jewelery:

Bellydancing Set:

:

Rainbow Wire Crochet Set:

And here is a painting i did this evening:

As for my Law of Attraction Doings… It has been interesting.

I have been pretty much unflinching in my positivity, hope, and undestroyable belief in myself, what i do, where i am, where i want to go, why i want to do these things, etc….

I am on my Highlighted Route. Everything is fabulous.

I need to clean my house more and spend more time with the love of my life, but thats it……. and these things are temporary as i become adjusted and find rhythm with my business processes.  Once i have a working, stable system, for how many orders i should prep for, how many auctions ill be having, a stable acquisition profile for my mandatory in stock materials… once all this settles into a nice little well oiled process, ill get back to my chosen duties as a stay-at-home…. but am i still a stay at  home? i have an entirely new and huge piece of my life now which while i generally remain home to manage it, is a far cry from what  considered to be my ‘job’ previously. technically, i have both, right now, and while it is bugging me crazy to have theose two small but very huge ripples in things, i know they will iron out and my home will not be chaos, and my sweetheart wont have that…. idk.. lacking of his Muchness, i suppose… i try not to be too personal in this blog, but this is technically part of whats going on in my craft and business related world, as my constant production for the business is the things which has caused the waves.

I got WAY off track. but ill bring it home here… I have maintained positivity even regarding the ripples, where as conversely it is normally my nature to fret and pick my cuticles etc, and it has helped me work with, the issue, and not against it.

by planning what i am going to do to correct it while staying in stride with what i am already doing, that step just falls in line with the others which have been waiting for my feet, as opposed to trying to jump onto it as we whizz by one another…

its much more pleasant for my brain meats.

LOA, has impacted every little aspect of my life, and i have actively maintained my processes in pretention to it, and my current hopes and dreams. Consequently, a lifei always wanted has flown from my fingertips in many ways, and even money grows on trees now, because my boxes are made out of WOOD SUCKA! hahaha….

But even recently, i sat with a few other people who hate their lives and want change so badly, but when i tried to explain LOA, or just a basic plan of how you are responsible for yourself and doing what you want to do… they just tuned off i think. as soon as you tell them they they are the only thing in their way, they just stop and go… ‘whaaaaat?’ and then continue to stand there and wait for the world to knock on their door with a new life.

you can dream all you want, and even if you are into manifesting, you can do that all you want… but if you dont take any action, nothing is going to happen.

Every time i get what i consider to be a ‘touched inclination’, aka a thought that is not only a random thought but a hint from the universe to do a certain thing. or try something, etc… i stop EVERYTHING and either take notes, or put the materials out together somewhere, or whatever… sometimes it turnes into a note in my pocket or in my handy book that doesnt get tended to for weeks. but it does, happen. and more than a fewof those have ben successful when i eventually came around to them again.

Anyway, i sat there and tried to explain what happened to me over the last couple months (2,000 hits in this here blog, by the way, thanks for that, ladies and germs…. ) and how it worked out for me mentally, and why your mental processes are so important…. but i was talking to the wall. i kept trying, and i even brought out my gratitude rock, and explained it, and offered to give the one i had to my friend, but he and his company were disinterested.

I will stand by and keep being there for them, obviously, but it seems to me a clear case of doing the same things over and over and expecting different results, which i think Einstein said, is the deifnition of insanity.

Something has got to give.

Theres an anime called Full Metal Alchemist, that i watched briefly, and there was a great quote in the beginning. it was in terms of alchemy, and the plot line, but i also think it ca be applied to essentially everything in the world.

“Human kind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy’s first Law of Equivalent Exchange.”
I have been giving everything i can give, as hard as i can, and it is coming back to me, altered by the effects of the Law (of Attraction, not of Exchange, lol) And yet people are standing quite amazed at me, and this thing I have materialized/manifested/made for myself, just completely dumbfounded, like i did one of the most amazing tricks ever.

and in a lot of ways honestly i feel like i did.

Rev. Michael Beckwith’s words come to mind, “And out of no how? and, out of now way? A way will be made.”

and thats just what happened. i believed and acted so hard, that there was no other possible outcome for this situation.

I remember when having my own successful business in which i could do whatever i damn well please at all times, was known to be a possibility in the world, but i didnt see how it would ever happen for me. I rememebr that, but it feels like a dream thats fading off.

i did do something amazing. And every day i wake up, sometimes in a panic because im missing an auction or cant find boxes or whatever, but, i wake up, and regardless of those things, i am for the most part joyous, and so happy to be waking up to do what i am going to do that day.

Heres a picture of a visualization board of sorts… I dont want things that i could find pictures of online or in a catalog or anything, so i painted one:

There are five main ideas going on here…. excuse my crappy painting, by the way, this was a quick ting i did as a beginning idea but it kind of stuck.

Five areas… Starting on the left side on the bottom, that a sketch of some computer windows open, with 5 new Etsy Transactions email in there.Above that is a finished box all wrapped up and flying to its owner, with a trail of coins and cash behind it. to the right of that is me and my sweetie in a heart, content. below that, is a stick figure of myselfin a meditative type state, the energy of the universe entering my head. and then under that, squeezed in tiny, is me intently painting a box….

i look at this all the time, and silly as it may seem , it really helps me keep focused on my goals, because i know these things wont happen by themselves. I have to take steps to make them transpire. The Universe will place the paths in front of me, but I still have to walk. And then i do.

Well, today was a heck of a day.

I honestly dont even remember when it started. I know I was present for an auction around 3 pm. I didnt sleep last night, or the night before (dont kill me! I do it all the time and it doesnt hurt!) I know I got my item into an auction on TH around 4ish? then I was out shopping for supplies when it went up unfortunately, but I did make another sale of 30 something dollars. That was the SHIZ!

The I came home with my new supplies and promptly set myself at my desk to work on projects (of which, in terms of orders, I currently have seven going on for this week, so far… and it is only tuesday… )

I got into my first auction through the outdoor fair again, and i got in and won my auction. The I worked on projects til midnight, when the Night Owl Bazaar started, and again I waited for the fair and got a spot. And my lot sold for 32.00. :-)

Now, the amazing part of that all, is that this completed my 3 auction winning cap that i have had since starting on tophatter. I had to sell one item at a time, three times, before i could be moved up to 3, 5, 10 or 15 items.

I did so well with my 3 auctions that i skipped right over 3 and went to 5!

SOOOOOO…. I now have 5 auctions coming up.

at 12 noon, on march 21st, I have a purse going up.

Then on the 22nd, I have a pair of earrings I am going to try and sell, around 1 PM, and a Twilight Box around 5 PM

Then on the 23rd I am selling a braided aluminum collar I made at 1 PM, and then at 5 PM in the bazaar I have my Spiderweb box listed.

All these items can be found in my Etsy store at http://www.etsy.com/shop/KimKnots

once all my auctions were done, and I listed 5 more (hee hee) I marked it all on 2 calendars, updated my white board, and set my ass t work on all these new orders. Of the 7 I have currently, I have 4 in the finishing stages, and 2 just begun. Not bad Id say.I was a FRENZY for some time this evening, but it felt amazing. I have joyful work and it is GOOD.

Since I last wrote about my LOA progress, and how I had to re-evaluate my thought processes and how my positivity was doing…. what, it was doing, and how EXACTLY I was thinking , what TERMS, I was using etc…. Once i ironed all that out, the flood gates opened, and I have been swept away most joyfully.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I made almost an entire paycheck from my old job so far since selling my first boxes. It took twice as long, but thats all about to change too….  =-) That blows my mind.
